Fed Poly Bida Rector approves enforcement of ‘no work, no pay’ policy

Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Bida, Dr Abubakar Dzukogi has approved the enforcement of a ‘no work no pay’ policy in the polytechnic beginning from January 2nd, 2020.

This is sequel to a December 11 Governing Council directive enjoining striking members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Bida Chapter (ASUP-BD) to resume work immediately.

This was contained in a memo signed by the Registrar of the polytechnic, Mallam Mohammed Baba Ndana recently.

According to the memo, the Council invoked Cap 432, Section 42, Sub-section 1(a) of the Trade Dispute Act as justification for the new directive.

“The Academic Staff are therefore advised to write their names in the Attendance Register opened in the Deputy Rector Academics’ Office,” the statement read.
